TRAVEL POSTERS/OCEAN LINER: S.S. Normandie - This is the first, and the rarest, of all the variations on Cassandre's world-famous poster for the Normandie for her Maiden voyage on 29th May 1935. 50,000 people saw her off from Le Havre on what was hoped would be a record-breaking crossing. She reached New York City after four days, three hours and two minutes, taking the Blue Riband from the Italian liner Rex.
