HMS Association, wrecked on the Outer Gilstone on the Isles of Scilly, 22 October 1707 A lead container or possibly a ‘counter-weight’ (?). Square with two lugs, measuring 11.5cm x 7.5cm, 2.5kg Identical to lot 14, this lead object also came from the wreck of HMS. Association, lost on Scilly in 1707. The similarity suggests they were dockyard supplied items, and not cast on board, but its function remains a mystery.
