Admiral Davidge Gould was a distinguished Royal Naval officer, born at Sharpham Park near Bridgwater, Somerset. He was one of Lord Nelson's Band of Brothers at the Battle of the Nile in 1798 and served in the American Revolutionary, French Revolutionary and Napoleonic Wars.
