Mount Edgcumbe A walk round Mount-Edgcumbe Printed by Congdon and Hearle, at The Telegraph Office, Fore-Street, Plymouth-Dock. This edition has alterations and additions, large 12mo. (II); (III)-IV; (5)-50 pp, attractively bound in dark blue half-morocco, marbled boards with gilt lettering to the spine. Fifth edition, 1817. Such guide books published to be purchased at the house itself, are amongst the most scarce of all guide-books, as by their very ephemeral nature, most would have been discarded after the visit. The British Library catalogue records several copies, but not this edition, or the third edition. According to Brockett, the 1814 fourth edition is the earliest recorded copy in the West Country Studies Library at Exeter. A fine copy of an extremely rare work.
