An antique late Roman gold, green chalcedony intaglio cabochon ring, with copy of a preliminary report by J. David Zienkiewicz of the Carmarthen Museum, stating that the ring is probably of the fourth century, with an intaglio dated to the first century, possibly depicting an elderly goatherd, later re-set into the ring, approximate ring size J1/2, 4.1g

- Overall fair condition - Please note that this lot only comes with a photocopy of the original museum report - Band slightly out of shape - Intaglio with scratches and abrasions, closed-back setting, we were not able to examine the cabochon fully - Edges of collet setting are slightly rough, signs of possible previous repair - Some marks and scratches, in keeping with age and general wear - Clients are advised to view and inspect items before bidding and they must satisfy themselves as to the condition of every lot - For enquiries about this lot please contact David Pregun at [email protected]
