A FIRST WORLD WAR DISTINGUISHED SERVICE GROUP OF FIVE TO A PETTY OFFICER FIRST CLASS. A group of five comprising George V Distinguished Conduct Medal named to 207027 T.H. Wise P.O. 1 Cl. 'Orford” 1918. 1914-15 Star to T. Wise L.S. R.N. War Medal and Victory Medal to Wise as a Petty Officer, and Long Service And Good Conduct Medal to Wise aboard H.M.S. Greenwich. Remounted Court style for display. Thomas Henry Wise was born on the 26th January 1884 at Walton on the Hill, Surrey. He joined as a Boy 2nd Class in 1899 serving on various ships before, during and after the Great War. His Distinguished Conduct Medal was Gazetted on Tuesday 10th December 1918 (14644) 'For services in Grand Fleet Destroyers between 1 Jan & 30 June 1918'. His First World War Trio were awarded to H.M.S. Dido. H.M.S. Orford, on which he served at Jutland was an M Class Destroyer of the 14th Flotilla, 4th Light Cruiser Squadron. Sold with copied service record and Gazette pages *Condition: Medals sometime cleaned.
