A FAMILY GROUP OF TWO FIRST WORLD WAR TRIOS, ONE WITH MEMORIAL PLAQUE AND A PAIR TO THREE MEMBERS OF THE GEORGE FAMILY. A Great War Trio comprising 1914-15 Star named to 95909 Gnr R. George R.F.A. War Medal and Victory Medal to George With the R.A. The plaque mounted in an oak frame, to Reginald George. Reginald George was the son of Harry H and Mary Jane George of Leeds, he served as an acting Bombardier with C Battery, 51st Brigade. Born in Stanbeck, Yorkshire and died of wounds on the 12th September 1917. He is buried at Ypres Reservoir Cemetery, his headstone reads 'Rest in Peace'. He was 25 years old.
With a similar Trio with 1914-15 Star named to 99339 Gnr F.L. George R.F.A. War medal and Victory Medal to the R.A. Fredreick, brother to Reginald, served for 3 years and 9 month, suffering from Malaria in May 1918, he served with D battery of the 116th Brigade. With a pair almost certainly to a third brother comprising War Medal and Victory Medal named to 2422 Gnr T. George R.A. Thomas George is also recorded with number 785908, he is recorded as being wounded on the 12th June 1918 and entitled to a wound stripe. *CR Normal surface marks to medals. A lot fee of £8 inc.
