* Hogan (J.S.) was an Irish-Canadian journalist born outside Dublin in 1815. He was mentioned in several periodicals, and other publications. In his time he was regarded with Thomas D'Arcy McGee, two of Canada's greatest Irishmen. He died in Toronto in 1859, aged 44.
