A Baron Barnstaple pottery jardiniere, early 20th century, the yellow mottle glazed body mounted with lizards, incised maker's marks and shape number '22 1/2' to underside, 23.5cm high (at fault)
The piece shows fine surface crazing throughout.
One side shows descending hairline crack approximately 15cm long, from which run a horizontal hairline approximately 3.5cm long, and a diagonal descending hairline 6cm long. All three cracks show small losses to the glaze. Directly opposite is a further descending diagonal hairline approximately 10cm long. One lizard shows a chip to the head approximately 4mm long.
