A pair of Augustus Rex double gourd vases and stoppers, 19th century, each decorated with scenes of courting couples divided by fish scale reserves to a salmon ground, each stopper with floral finial, painted maker's mark to base, each 20.5cm high (2) (at fault)
Provenance: Wykey House
The finial to one of the vases shows evidence of repair (as seen in photo). Both vases show rubbing to gilt highlights, minor firing pits and frits throughout. No other chips, cracks, crazing, or obvious signs of damage.
