Medical, The Diary of a Newark Gentleman-Physician, a late Victorian and later ink MS diary, written by Dr Ernest Ringrose, M.D., of Lombard House, Newark, Nottinghamshire (1869-1959; also author of a 'History of Newark Hospital 1840-1930', MS at Nottinghamshire Archives), [the volume partially-inscribed, approximately 200pp of MS], the manuscript dated and intermittently inscribed from 7th April, 1886 to 13th October, 1952, including a few insights into medicine, the whole of which is prefixed by 'A short account of my schooldays at Merchant Taylor's School', then suffixed by a one-page chronology of 'Hospitals that I have visited and some I have worked or lived in', the recto flyleaves records Ringrose's cricketing career as a batsman and wicket-keeper, 19th century green-stained vellum, the cover ruled in blind, the upper-cover with partial clasp, marbled edges and endpapers, loosely-inserted Ringrose family b/w photograph, annotated and dated 1936 to verso, 4to, [1]
