An 18th century bell metal travelling chalice, possibly Irish, the conical bowl screw-fitting and inverting for the pocket, 8.5cm high, c.1750; another, similar (2) Reference: It has been suggested that this type of chalice was used by Catholics in Ireland for clandestine worship during the period of the Penal Laws.
