Royal Marine Artillery Edwardian Officer's Mess Dress as worn by Lieut Colonel John M. Rose, scarce example with Stable jacket style, dark blue with scarlet facings to collar and cuffs with gold bullion lace decoration, collar fitted with gold bullion flaming grenades, bullion shoulder cords with Lieut Col insignia (1 pip detached), jacket edged with gold lace of the Regimental pattern, interior with blue quilted lining. Dark blue trousers with red stripes. Name label for the firm J. Daniels & Co Woolwich and St James's to both pieces, hand written Lt Col J.M. Rose R.M.A., he was promoted to Lieut Col in 1911, served in this rank through WW1 and was issued a 1915 Star medal trio. Ex Bosleys Sep 2005, when sold, only had Major's crowns). (B)
