A smokebox numberplate, 63417, from a North Eastern Railway Class T2/LNER Q6 Class 0-8-0 No 2260 built by Armstrong Whitworth, Works No 8, in February 1920, renumbered 3417 in 1946, becoming BR 63417. Allocated to Newport by January 1948, it moved to Middlesbrough later that year and to the newly built Thornaby shed in June 1958. It finished its days at Neville Hill from where it was withdrawn on 13 February 1966 and despatched for scrap to T.W. Ward at Beighton on 25 April 1966. Ex loco condition. (Postage Band: D)
