1885 (Apr 12) Cover to England sent at the 1d soldiers concession rate, headed "From No 84 Sergt E.H Cox 1st Mounted Rifles" and countersigned by the Commanding Officer, bearing an uncancelled Stellaland 1d (torn prior to use) with "BARKLY WEST / T.O" c.d.s alongside, backstamped at Cape Town (Apr 15) and Derby, minor staining and edge faults. A unique cover, just twelve covers recorded bearing Stellaland stamps, this being the only one sent at the 1d soldiers rate, the few other 1d rate covers recorded from the Warren Expedition all franked by Cape stamps.
