Provenance: Kendal Museum 'Disposal of Surplus Specimens', 1968. Amongst lots 60-77 "18 Framed Paintings of Foreign Origin" sold en bloc to Derek Carruthers in July 1968 for £30. The lot is sold with 2 typed letters signed by Arthur Wainwright (1907-1991, author and illustrator) the then Hon. Clerk to Kendal Borough Council
