An amazing antique land owner lease, in exceptional condition considering age. Dated 2nd of September 1842 for the The Honourable Hercules Robert Pakenham & John Aylmer. The deed has three official insignia wax stamps and is related to lands Glenageary in the county of Dublin (for 99 years,) from the first of May 1842. It states "Rent payable 35 pounds and 6p, payable May and November".
Pakenham was the brother in law to Arthur Wellesley, the 1st Duke of Wellington. In his own right, Pakenham sat as a member of parliament for Westmeath, was a decorated war hero and the "Sir Hercules Pakenham Scholarship" is still active in Queen's University, Belfast in his name.
