Balthazard a French Victorian bracket clock the eight-day duration movement striking the hours and the 'ting-tang' quarters on two gongs and stamped and numbered for the maker of the blanc roulant A.D. Mougin, 1520, the break-arch velvet-covered brass dial having a raised silvered chapter ring engraved with black Roman numerals and decorative brass hands, with a gilded-brass engraved decorative mount set below with the enamelled oval name plaque engraved Balthazard, the mahogany break-arch case having a cast-brass handle to the top, inset brass fret-work to the top corners and glazed sides, height 50cm.
