18th Century letters/documents with:
1. Letter dated 26th March 1796 from Whitehall, by direction of the Duke of Portland to the Chief Magistrate of Margate forbidding ships from France or her Dominions from landing Alien Passengers at any GB port other than those authorised.
2. Memorandum For Charter dated 24th June 1788 in London authorising Mr Headlam, owner of the ship Teasdale, to sail to St Petersburg and collect 150 tons of hemp and 50 tons of loom and return to Portsmouth in set number of days.
First extremely fine, second with minor tearing on some folds, nearly very fine. Qty 2 (R)
