Naval group mounted as worn - 1939-45 Star, Africa Star, War Medal and Naval General Service Medal GVI with Palestine 1945-48 clasp (C/JX.234751 R A Dolby Ldg Smn RN). Reginald Austin Dolbys WW2 medals privatly named. Plus miniatures, named HMS Ajax & River Plate Veterans badge. 1942 dated Chatham letter stating he was missing at Tobruk. Italian Prisoner of War postcard stating he was a POW. From Italian POW Camp P.G.No.66 he was transfered to Germany POW Camp 8B with POW number 28101. In 1980 he secured an audience with the Pope ! Lots of original paperwork & photos, including several letters etc, relating to the Vaticans envolvement in helping POW's. Pocket note book recalling his capture HMS Eskimo 21st June 1942, finally Escaping 8/4/45 and freed by the Americans. Certificate of Service, born Leigh-on-Sea. (Qty)
