Possibly the work exhibited at the Royal Academy 1848, no 177. As an adult the sitter went on to study at Balliol College, Oxford He later became a Liberal politician, joining under William Gladstone. He later broke with Gladstone over Irish Home Rule and joined the Liberal Unionists
