AN EARLY 19TH CENTURY PERCUSSION CAP PISTOL BY ROOKE OF BIRMINGHAM. A 19th century pistol with a 16cm octagonal smooth bore barrel, 1.8cm gauge, with two silver bands at the breech, with a swivelling rammer, the hammer and sideplate with scrolling engraved decoration and signed 'Wm & S. Rooke for William and Samuel Rooke, Whittall St. Birmingham 1820-37. With similarly decorated trigger guard. 30cm overall. *CR: Small area of loss to end of hammer, wear throughout, action does not hold on half cock. *BP 22.5% (18.75% plus VAT) plus a lot fee of £8 inc. VAT on each lot.
