An impressive 18th century Scandinavian oak and birch marquetry chest, the hinged top inlaid with birds amongst flowers surrounded with bold geometric borders, revealing period pegged and planked interior and candlebox, oversized steel carrying handles and lock plate, the front panel inlaid with reindeer feeding amongst the trees, raised on bun feet c.1780 112cm wide x 65cm deep x 71cm high

Small amount of losses to the well detailed marquetry on the top and throughout. Some cup sized water marks to top, one more obvious than others, and losses to metalwork underside of the hinged top, however the parts are housed within the candlebox. See images.
