Fees

An unusual William IV rosewood wall clock, shaped to look like a bracket clock upon a wall bracket but constructed as a single piece, maker Alexander Mitchell of Glasgow, the unusual anchor escapement movement with each main cog connected to pulleys which are further connected to wedge shaped lead weights housed at the back of the case behind the movement, the case with scallop shell and foliate scroll motifs, 39cm high, 22cm deep, overall 120cm high

More Information

Of a mid to darkish brown rosewood tone, a little dusty in the crevices and with some scattered fine splits and separations of the joints but nothing severe, key present for the upper 'clock' part of the case which slides forward to allow access to the movement, dial looks to have been repolished at some point, movement looks complete but not tested for timekeeping, not overhauled for many years, comes with a steel shafted brass pendulum.
