Baden Powell (Robert, 1857-1941, Lieutenant-General in the British Army & founder of the Scouts). An original pencil caricature of Robert Baden Powell (initialed J. H., age 13), signed 'food! Baden Powell, Nyeri : 1940' beneath, sheet size 12.5cm x 17.5cm approx., This was drawn by James Hodson when he was a young teenager in the late 1930s. He would draw various caricatures of celebrities and politicians, then send them in the hope of getting the subject to sign and return the caricature. He was obviously a very talented young artist which many celebrities of the day were happy to oblige his request of a signature.
