A WWI 1914-15 TRIO OF MEDALS AND A MILITARY MEDAL FOR BRAVERY, complete with a Wilnecote Tribute medal, the MM is correctly named to R6454 PTE W Nixon 7/K.R.R.C, the trio is also correctly named to the same soldier, Walter Nixon was born in 1894 in a small Warwickshire village called Baxterley, and on the 1921 census he is living in Wilnecote and this straddles the Staffordshire and Warwickshire borders, Walter won his MM for bravery in the trenches at Ypres on the 6th December 1915 and this is confirmed on a card signed by his commanding officer on 24/12/1915, a Wilnecote tribute medal named to W.Nixon and these were issued to residents of that area by the in habitants of Wilnecote, also included with this group of medals is a WWII 1939-45 medal, a small silver medal, a photo and a postcard, further research shows Walter also had three other brothers who served in WWI and a 1821 Silver crown, this group is well worthy of further research, Customers must satisfy themselves prior to sale in regards to conditions and authenticity, viewing is advised, condition reports are available on request
