AN 1828 PATTERN ARGYLE AND SUTHERLAND OFFICERS BASKET HILTED BROADSWORD.
A Highland Infantry Officers sword with an 84cm straight tapering double edged and pointed blade with double fullers etched with Edward VII monogram and crown, Boars head with motto 'Neobluscaris', the sword marked for Brook & Son, 87 George St. Edinburgh, numbered 104750 to the back. The nickel plated basket guard lined in red with a prominent tassel, with a ribbed domed pommel with capstan shaped nut, the grip fish skin with spiral wound wire. The nickel plated scabbard with twin suspension rings and round terminal. 104cm overall.
