A GILDED CHINOISERIE TEA CADDY with two engraved pewter canisters to the interior, raised on 'dragon headed feet,' gilded acanthus scrolls to the interior rim, two gilded fern patterns to the interior of the lid, panels depicting either courtly or scholarly scenes, on black lacquer with gilt patterns throughout (1) (Condition Report: signs of historic repair to the feet, handles missing from the lids of the compartments - which are dented and distorted, splits and cracks where side panels join and on cover, some small losses to the lacquer, one inner container has a tiny hole in the corner)
