A 19TH CENTURY SCARLET BOULLE CENTRE TABLE, Napoleon III style, violin shape with extensive decorative tortoise and brass inlaid panels to top and surrounding on ebonized wood, with gadrooned banding along top edge. With gilt crest to frieze drawer, flanked by figures in relief to knee of cabriole leg and brass mounts. Structurally in good condition however tortoise and brass in need of restoration, as photographed. This piece is very much in the style of originals by Andre-Charles Boulle, after which this style of marquetry on furniture is named. Dimensions: 77cm high x 147cm wide x 89cm deep
