Boer War Queens South Africa Medal 7 Clasps Relief of Kimberley, Paardeburg, Driefontein, Johannesburg, Diamond Hill, Belfast and South Africa 1901, awarded to 2744 Pte J. W Dawson York Regt. Medal rolls of 1st Battalion the Princess of Wales Own (Yorkshire Regiment) 11 June 1902 and 4 February 1903 confirm Private Dawson was entitled to QSA Medal and clasps as detailed above. In 1899 1st Battalion was posted to South Africa where it was involved in the Relief of Kimberley and several battles, including Diamond Hill and Belfast, the battalion returned to Britain in September 1902.
