Artwork by the Spanish painter Jose Segrelles Albert (1885-1969). The ancient city of Cordoba / Cordova is located the Andalusia region of southern Spain; the Islamic Caliphate of Cordoba was established by Abd al-Rahman I of the Umayyad dynasty in 756.
