Very unusual silver & wood lined cash box in the shape of a cigarette box, has a locking mechanism (no key) . Inscribed on the lid "Presented to Lieut. W. L. Allen R.N. by his term 1901 - 02 H.M.S. Britannia " (this ship was a training hulk) - the future King George V was trained on this ship (see little piece of research). Hallmarked London 1896 (Maker unclear) + a silver vesta case presented to (probably) W.L. Allan - Inscribed on one side W.L.A. and the other side is inscribed Port Cutter H.M.S. Britannia 1900. Hallmarked A&J. Z Birm 1900. Total weight of both items 16.25 oz.
