A George II/III possibly colonial solid mahogany fall front writing bureau with fitted interior and sliding well, above usually configured one long drawer over two short above a further two long drawers. Supported by shaped bracket feet. 102 cm wide x 60 cm deep x 109 cm overall height, 80 cm high to the fall

The drawer configuration and the fact that it is fitted with a well and a frieze drawer is an unusual feature The drawer linings are made from good quality mahogany that the carcase is made from, an unusual extravagance unless the timber was native and in plentiful supply. Later leathered interior

Locks missing Old spliced repair on the top where fall lock has been forced.
