Gladstone (William Ewart, 1809-1898). An original manuscript letter, signed by William Ewart Gladstone, dated 19th October 1877, to Rev. Precentor, letter reads "Since I wrote to you an arrangement has been made which will require me to be in Dublin tommorow afternoon. I propose therefore unless I hear to the contrary to come to Christ Church soon after Euston", 11.3cm x 9cm approx., letter tipped-in onto card for display purposes. Gladstone was the Prime Minister of Great Britain & Chancellor of the Exchequer.
