An original and rare 1703 "New Map of the World" by Peter Heylyn 1703 with an unusual folded mount with plates from the book "Cosmography in Four Books - Containing the Chorography and History of the whole World". Antique Maple wood frame. Interestingly the depiction of North America shows California as an Island and Australia (New Holland) is only partly delineated and is depicted as being joined to Papua New Guinea. Frame size 82cm x 57cm
