A locomotive numberplate, No 62045, 1948, from a Peppercorn K1 Class 2-6-0 built by the North British Locomotive Co, Works No 26649, in October 1949. It spent most of its working life at Darlington before moving briefly towards the end to West Hartlepool and Tyne Dock from where it was withdrawn in September 1967 and sold for scrap to Hughes Bolckows Ltd at North Blyth. Engraved brass, 12"x6½", the front lightly polished. (Postage Band: B)
