An Aynsley quartet tea service in the 'Orchid' pattern, Rd No 145814, comprising: a serving tray with scalloped rim and twin shell handles, 42cm wide; a teapot and cover of ovoid form with shell finial, 14cm high; a milk jug, 7.5cm high; a sugar bowl, 5.5cm high; and four teacups and saucers, all with printed marks (12) (at fault)
The tray shows a crude repair to one handle. All pieces except the tray show fine surface crazing throughout, including a small area of stained crazing to the teapot. All pieces show rubbing to the gilt highlights, but no obvious evidence of restoration.
