Sussex, from Treasury Chambers, Whitehall, dated October 19th, 1936, and 4 further a/l’s, from 11 Downing Street, all to Douglas Hogg’s wife, Mildred, each enquiry about Douglas Hogg’s health and offering support and good wishes, together with a framed telegram from Balmoral Castle, sent by King George VI, to ‘’The Viscountess Hailsham…..”The Queen and I have heard with great regret the news of Lord Hailshams death and send our deep sympathy to you and your family.
