A good Chinese celadon jade peonies and rockwork small table screen and stand, 18th/19th century, carved in high relief to one side with peonies and rocks, the stone of excellent even colour with a few pale inclusions to the plain reverse,
Provenance- from the collection of the vendors late father who collected Chinese works of art in Hong Kong from 1950 to the 1970s. He lived in Shanghai from 1947-48 and became a successful businessman living and working in Hong Kong from 1949 until his death in 1994. Jade 14.7 cm x 10.3cm, total size including carved wood stand 22cm x 12.3cm
The stone of good even tone with a tiny white inclusion lower left on the front and a few white inclusions visible on the back. In good condition with no restoration, chips or cracks, the wood stand also in good condition.
