Dismounted fan leaves: a selection of 18th/19th century fan leaves removed from montures, for reuse or spares/repairs, the first example showing a marriage, probably that of Cupid and Psyche, after the fresco by Raphael for the Farnese gallery in Rome, with Old Father Time, and Neptune present, amongst other Gods, having previously been mounted on mother of pearl; a second example in skin, showing perhaps the Death of Lucretia who appears to be striking her breast, with blood apparent, with Brutus and Collatinus present, two butterflies painted on the verso; a pale skin example, probably Dutch, with a countryside scene; an ethereal, romantic example of a couple near water, perhaps from a drama or ballet, lithographed; a Chinese leaf painted with an exotic bird and others; and a lithographed leaf with pastoral scenes recto/verso (6)
In varying condition, good colour to the early leaves but some rubbing and wear.
