£300
A pair of native American Indian gloves and a hat from Buffalo Bill's Wild West Show, c 1904, the gloves of cream coloured buckskin decorated with coloured beadwork and with a fringe down one side, the top hat covered with black brushed silk and with a band of white buckskin decorated with coloured beadwork. The gloves GC but require cleaning, the hat very worn and slightly squashed, the beadwork band good. The items come with a letter of provenance stating that these items were left behind in the Queen's Hotel in Penzance, Cornwall after the departure of Buffalo Bill's Wild West show in the early 1900's and that they had been the property of a former employee of the hotel. The shows toured extensively all over the world at this point and most definitely stopped in Penzance so these are probably from the show of May 30th, 1904. £200-300
