A WWII British Mk II steel helmet with field applied brown camouflage finish. Smooth khaki factory paint to interior, helmet and liner dated 1940. Service number 930963 under brim. This number is from the number batch supplied to the Royal Artillery. Believed to have been used in North Africa Campaign, Sicily, Italy. On the front of the helmet is scratched "The Saint" symbol as in Leslie Charteris' spy novels. This sign was also used by 41st Transport Column, Royal Army Service Corps. One of many being sold from a private collection.
