57th (W. Middlesex) Regiment of Foot Crimean Victorian Albert shako plate circa 1839-55. Fine rare die-stamped brass crowned raised circular wreath, half of oak, half of laurel; within the wreath on a lined ground, the numerals 57. Original lead soldered loops. VGC 57th were present at the Battle of Balaclava, fought at Inkerman and throughout the siege of Sebastopol including the assault on the Redan on 18th June 1855.
