A FIRST WORLD WAR TRIO TO A CASUALTY FROM THE AUSTRALIAN INFANTRY FORCE. A Great War Trio comprising 1914-15 Star named to 1057 Pte J.H. Stuart 32 Bn A.I.F., War Medal and Victory Medal similarly named. John Henry Stuart having previously been reported missing was confirmed as having been killed in action on the 29th July 1916, he is commemorated at V.C. Corner Australian Cemetery and Memorial, Fromelles.
The Australian 5th Division famously suffered 5,500 casualties in fourteen hours at Fromelles. *CR Slight edge knocks to the star and surface dirt to all three. A lot fee of £8 inc. VAT will be charged on top of the hammer price and BP on all lots.
