1793-1814 MGSM 8 clasps Busaco, Fuente D'Onor, Salamanca, Pyrenees, Nivelle, Nive, Orthes, Toulouse, 1815 Waterloo Medal and 42nd Regimental Medal For the Peninsula Wars to R. Chisholm 42nd Foot (Roderick Chisholm 42nd or R.H. Reg. Infantry on Waterloo, R. Chisholm on Regimental) edge bruise to MGSM very fine, heavy contact marks to Waterloo, replacement suspender and clip replace d by a loop, end of surname worn, thus fair, Regimental medal with suspension engraved Pamplona and Vittoria with a second ribbon bar engraved Rodrigo and Badajoz.
With copied service papers and original Christie's receipt, he was born in Edinburgh, enlisted 10/8/07, he was wounded by Lancers in the back, upper part of right shoulder and in the right groin at Waterloo and at Toulouse 10/4/14. He was discharged 29/12/28 in consequence of a badly united right collar bone from a fall downstairs at Paisley Barracks in 1827 which prevents him from using the arm. Mark from a lance on the back and upper part of right shoulder and a similar mark in right groin." The 42nd suffered heavy casualties at Toulouse and Quatre Bras.
