The medals are housed in a contemporary oak frame
John Clifford Robson was born in Leeds in 1894. He resided at 29 Wedderburn Road, Harrogate and worked as a golf caddie.
He had previously served in the West Riding Regiment with service number 1645, having enlisted in Leeds. During the Great War, he served with the 1st/4th Bn (Ross Highland) of the Seaforth Highlanders.
He was sadly killed in action during the Battle on Ancre on the 16th of November 1916. His body was never recovered, and he is remembered on the Thiepval Memorial.
Only 62 TFWMs were awarded to the Seaforth Highlanders, making this group very rare.
