Mackenzie family group with:
1. WW1 Military Cross un-named as issued, BWM and Victory Medal to Lieut A.V. Mackenzie extremely fine. Allan Victor Mackenzie's MC was announced in the London Gazette dated 26th July 1917, "For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty when leading raids into the enemy's lines. His dash and determination enabled him to inflict heavy casualties upon the enemy, and on one occasion he carried a wounded man back over a distance of 300 yards under heavy shell fire. His conduct throughout was beyond all praise."
He was commissioned in the Special Reserve 7/7/16, landed France 18/10/16, post war he was commissioned in Territorial RAMC 8/6/29. Address on MIC 22 Belmont, Shrewsbury. With copied MIC and LGs.
2. Sister's Service Medal of the Order of St John with 4 clasps to 11444 A/Sis E.M. Mackenzie Shrewsbury No 1 Nsg Div No 7 Dis S.J.A.B. 1931, extremely fine. With copied WW1 Red Cross card, Edith Mary Mackenzie joined Nov 1915 and worked full time as Secretary & Assistant Quartermaster at St John's Aux Military Hospital, Shrewsbury. On her card he states under Honours that she was Mentioned.
3. Sister's Service Medal of the Order of St John to 15496 A/Sis N.M. Mackenzie Shrewsbury No 1 Nsg Div No 7 Dis S.J.A.B. 1936, extremely fine. With copied WW1 Red Cross card, Norah Milburgha Mackenzie served Nov 1915 to Nov 1916 and worked part time for 219 hours making swabs with Shrewsbury Red Cross Work Party No 1386.
With copied 1901 Census showing all 3 siblings born in Much Wenlock, Shropshire. Also with small gilt British Medical Association medal, suspender engraved Shropshire and Mid-Wales Branch. (See photo) (R)
