German WW2 10 x 80 Anti-Aircraft Flak Binoculars D.F. or Doppellfernrohr (Double Telescope) by Emil Busch, side marked D.F. 10X80/CXN/121120 No 79053, late war tan finish, the adjustment knob on the top is missing, the other with a small piece missing, otherwise good very fine.
This item was liberated by the vendor's father in law in late 1944/45 in North West Europe, with a number of typed pages of William Ronald Griffiths service history. Served with B.E.F. in 1940 with 159th Welsh Field Ambulance and was evacuated from Dunkirk 26/5/40, later served with RAOC and Royal Signals, landed France 19/6/44, also with 2 copied photos of the crossing of the Rhine. Yes, the optics are very good for close and distance. The owner's father used to use them for looking at shipping off the Welsh coast.
