"Portrait of Iseult Gonne," c 1905 pencil and gouache on paper, approx. 22cms x 16cms (9" x 6 1/4"), framed. Signed with initials ‘M G’ on the lower right, this drawing on light brown paper depicts Gonne’s daughter Iseult, aged around eleven. With bare shoulders and slender neck, head turned to the right and hair tied up, Iseult has a soulful expression. Using white gouache, Gonne has accentuated the beauty of her daughter’s profile.
