AN IMPRESSIVE LATE VICTORIAN TAXIDERMY CASE OF TROPICAL BIRDS.
Colourful group of seven tropical Asian and African birds mounted in an unusual wide and angle-sided case. Centered around a Turaco, species also comprise a Stork-billed kingfisher, Golden oriole, Masked weaver, Rosefinch, Red-whiskered bulbul and Indian pitta. Upon brightly painted stumps and textured groundwork, paper-lined interior with a watercolour graduated sky backdrop. A large original case with glazed front, gilt beading and black-painted exterior.
